STEAM SCHOOL - CURIN

STEAM School is designed and run by Chitkara University Research &Innovation Network (CURIN) to impart basic skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) in a fun filled– activity based structure. The activities done under STEAM school will not earn any credits but the essential skills, which are required by anyone, who wants to give shape to one’s ideas. There are no prerequisites but just the zeal to learn and do. The STEAM school is run on predetermined days during whole of the semester during evening hours– from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The STEAM calendar given below will give you an insight into details.

General Guideline(s)
  • Students can enroll in any number of courses.
  • Students can refer to the timetable carefully befor booking the slots.
  • Students can bring their own kits for basic electronic projects.
Others
  • Each course is of 10 hours (2 hours – 4:30-6:30 pm on five consecutive days)
  • Hostel accommodation to the day scholar will be given on request basis with the admissible charges (@ 200/- per night).
  • Course registration charges are Rs. 300.00/- candidate ( for registration and fee payment click Chalkpad)

Course - Basics Of Game Development Using Unity 3D
Course Objective
  • To spread knowledge about the game development software – Unity 3D
  • To provide 100% hands-on session on development of AR/VR applications
Course Outcome
  • The students will be able to use Unity 3D software to develop 2D/3D games and applications

Course - Make Your First Drone
Course Objective
  • This drone course will guide you through the main components and parts found in a drone, and show you how drones are built and prepared for flight.
  • The course will introduce you to the common acronyms related to drones as well as flight terms such as roll, pitch, yaw, and throttle.
Course Outcome
  • Students will able to define common acronyms related to Drones.
  • Knowledage of Drone main parts, BLDC Motors, Electronic Speed Controllers and Power Distribution Board

Course - Basics of Raspberry PI & Web Interface Development
Course Objective
  • Learn the basics of Internet of Things and its applications
  • Embedded programming using python
  • Configure and use the GPIO port with sensors and actuators
  • Develop practical IoT applications with Raspberry Pi
Course Outcome
  • Knowledge and understanding of fundamental IoT paradigms, architectures, possibilities and challenges, both with respect to software and hardware
  • Understand Raspbian OS, Python programming.
  • Build your computer using Raspberry Pi platform
  • Setup IoT connectivity using a remote desktop
  • Knowledge of sending data to the Internet and talking to the cloud
